Abstract. The purpose of the study is to determine the genotypes of naked oats that have a contrasting response to abiotic factors (weather) in terms of adaptive potential and productivity for an in–depth study of the nature of stress resistance of grain crops. Methods. On the basis of the Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture of the Northern Urals, the following were determined: the index of environmental conditions; parameters of stability and plasticity; indicator of variety stability; homeostaticity; stress resistance and stability index for 29 naked genotypes of oats of domestic breeding. The research was conducted in 2022–2024 at the experimental field. The index of the environment ranged from ‒0.37 to 0.32, which indicates the contrast of weather conditions. Scientific novelty. Based on the use of various techniques, the adaptive potential and breeding value of naked oats in contrasting weather conditions have been determined. Results. The following varieties had maximum stress resistance: Sibirskiy golozernyy, Piband and Percheron, which had high productivity (4.0–5.2 t/ha) with minimal variation over the years (2–13 %) and the best adaptability to adverse weather conditions. The most sensitive to abiotic factors were: 255h14, Parkers huskless, Gavrosh, the breeding value of which varies from 1.01 to 1.61, with an average value for the group of 2.78. Intensive-type varieties have been identified that respond to changes in external conditions: 5h18, Ofenya, 13h18, Vyatskiy golozernyy, Gavrosh, Pomor, Taydon and Parkers huskless. Their plasticity was 2.015–3.659 with a stability of 0.160–0.989. According to the sum of the yield ratings and adaptivity indicators, the most valuable genotypes were recognized (more than 200 points): Piband, LAUREL (154), 11h12o, Liniya 120 1/29, Percheron and Sibirskiy golozernyy. Recommendations. To study the nature of stress resistance of naked oats, it is proposed to use genotypes with contrasting properties: sensitive – 255h14, Parkers huskless, Gavrosh; resistant – Sibirskiy golozernyy, Piband and Percheron. Piband, LAUREL (154), 11h12o, Liniya 120 1/29, Percheron and Sibirskiy golozernyy are offered for inclusion in breeding programs.
