Abstract. The purpose of the research is to study a complex of functional changes in the organs of Alpine goats with arthritis-encephalitis in the age aspect according to the results of blood analysis. Methods. The studies were conducted at one of the private agricultural enterprises of the Sverdlovsk region, as well as at the Ural Research Veterinary Institute and the Department of Morphology and Expertise of the Ural State Agrarian University. This article presents the results of biochemical and general clinical blood tests in the animals studied. The object of the study was 45 goats of three age groups. To conduct laboratory studies, blood was taken from goats sick with arthritis-encephalitis using vacuum-containing systems, with further transportation of the material to the laboratory. The scientific novelty of the studies lies in the fact that the methods of biochemical and general clinical blood tests were used to determine the functional state of internal organs in goats with arthritis-encephalitis. Results. During the research it was established that according to the results of the biochemical blood test most animals showed signs of liver pathology. A significant part of the examined animals had an inflammatory process. Goats with a deficiency of protein components and a violation of calcium-phosphorus metabolism were also identified. In addition, many individuals showed signs of azotemia. A similar picture is more often recorded in animals that received feed that does not meet quality parameters – the presence of pathogenic microflora in feed, the growth of mold fungi and secreted mycotoxins, an increase in feed acidity. According to the results of the general clinical blood test, an inflammatory process was also observed, in addition, signs of anemia were detected, which may be due to a violation of the red bone marrow.
