Antibiotic resistance of the microbiota of a goat breeding enterprise depending on the clinical and metabolic status of animals with arthritis-encephalitis and after replacement of livestock

Abstract. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the relationship between the presence of signs of viral arthritisencephalitis in goats, their metabolic status and the persistence of antibiotic-resistant opportunistic microflora in milk and animal housing areas. Methods. Three groups of goats carrying the caprine arthritis-encephalitis virus were studied: group 1 – animals with signs of arthritis, group 2 – mastitis, and group 3 – without clinical symptoms of the disease. All groups underwent biochemical blood analysis, milk samples and swabs from contact surfaces in the housing areas were collected for microbiological studies, and the opportunistic microbiota was studied, determining phenotypic sensitivity to 6 classes of antibiotics. Scientific novelty. A relationship was established between the health status of goats and the frequency of detection of antibiotic-resistant isolates in the areas of their maintenance. The features of metabolic changes in various forms of CAEV were determined. Results. The highest proportion of sensitive isolates recovered from milk was registered to enrofloxacin (85.7 %), the lowest to lincomycin (21.4 %). In places where animals with pronounced pathologies were kept, 11.2 % more resistant tests were detected at the first stage, and the proportion of sensitive tests was lower at the first and second stages – by 16.4 % and 14.2 %, respectively, compared to places where goats with no health deviations were kept. Intergroup differences in biochemical parameters were determined for four parameters: in animals with arthritis, the globulin level was 7.9 % lower than in animals without manifestations of the disease; in goats with signs of mastitis, LDH activity was 26.2 % higher than in goats in the subclinical group, iron concentration was 28.9 % and 37.4 % lower than in animals in the arthritic and asymptomatic groups, respectively, and calcium was 7.5 % lower than in animals with arthritis.
