Abstract. The purpose is to assess the economic potential of energy conservation in livestock farming in the Omsk region and identify areas for its practical implementation. The study presented in the scientific article examines the role of electrification as a key direction for developing the material and technical base of the livestock sector in agriculture. It is shown that modern agribusiness relies on electricity‑intensive technologies that ensure automation of production processes, reduction of resource intensity, growth in labour productivity, and improvement of sectoral energy efficiency. An analysis of the resource potential of electricity in livestock farming has been carried out, the economic effects of implementing energy‑efficient technologies have been determined, and certain infrastructural constraints have been identified. Proposals for the development of electrical infrastructure and mechanisms of state support have been formulated. Methodology and methods. Computational-analytical and computationalstatistical methods, as well as comparative analysis, tabular and graphical methods were used in the preparation of the study. The key indicators used were the unit costs of electricity, labor and fuel resources, the payback period for energy-efficient measures, as well as the reduction in production costs, expressed as a percentage. Results and scope of application. The article evaluates the economic potential of energy saving in the livestock industry of the Omsk region based on an analysis of the structure of energy consumption, identification of key factors of energy intensity and calculation of the effectiveness of the implementation of energy-efficient measures. It has been established that energy saving is a significant reserve for increasing the profitability of livestock enterprises in the region, ensuring a reduction in production costs of up to 3.1 million rubles per enterprise with a reduction in energy consumption of up to 25 %. Priority directions for realising the energy‑saving potential have been identified, and measures for economic stimulation of energy‑efficient transformations have been proposed. Scientific novelty of the research lies in a comprehensive study of electrification not only as a factor of energy supply, but also as a tool for transforming the structure of the material and technical base of livestock farming through redistribution of production costs by reducing energy consumption. The materials can be used in developing regional programmes for modernising the agro‑industrial complex.
