Abstract. The biochemical composition of corn feed determines its nutritional value and, ultimately, affects the productivity of farm animals. Photoluminescence spectroscopy is a relatively inexpensive, fast-acting and selective method for monitoring plant organisms. The purpose of the research is to study the possibilities of using the luminescent method to control the fat content in corn grinds to create a photoluminescent control technique and substantiate the parameters of the equipment for its implementation. Methods. Experimental samples of corn grains were ground in a laboratory mill, and the fat content was varied by fine-drip irrigation with control using an infrared express analyzer. The spectral optical characteristics of excitation and photoluminescence were measured on a diffraction spectrofluorimeter. The integral absorption capacity and photoluminescence flux, as well as the mathematical expectation, variance, asymmetry and kurtosis were calculated. Results. The excitation spectra have three main maxima at 282 nm, 362 nm, and 424 nm wavelengths. The spectral and integral characteristics of excitation and luminescence decrease with increasing fat content due to concentration quenching. Statistical parameters change slightly or non-systematically. The dependences of photoluminescence fluxes on the fat content of the feed can be statistically reliably approximated by linear equations. For the hardware implementation of the method, it is advisable to use the flow ratio Φ282/Φ362, linearly approximated with a coefficient of determination of 0.9121. Scientific novelty. For the first time, the spectra were measured and the luminescence parameters of corn with different fat content were calculated. The dependences of photoluminescence fluxes on fat content are obtained. A method for determining the fat content in corn feed has been developed, and the spectral parameters of radiation sources and receivers for its subsequent instrument implementation have been substantiated.
