Abstract. The paper presents data on the nitrogen content in vegetative organs and ears of spring soft wheat varieties when they are cultivated on two backgrounds of basic tillage. The purpose of the study was to study the accumulation of nitrogen in the vegetative organs and ears of spring soft wheat varieties in the earing and full ripeness phases under contrasting conditions of the period 2020 and 2022–2023 in the southern chernozems zone of the Orenburg region. Methods. The object of research is 4 varieties of spring soft wheat. Basic tillage options: plowing to a depth of 25–27 cm and non-fallowing ha of 25–27 cm. Scientific novelty. A significant influence of the weather conditions of the growing season and the methods of basic tillage on the accumulation of nitrogen in the organs of spring soft wheat varieties has been established. The nitrogen content in the ear floor in the full ripeness phase was determined and its ratio to the nitrogen content in the grain was considered. Results. Under conditions of changing climatic factors with significant deviations during the growing season from optimal air temperatures and precipitation, the accumulation of nutrients, in particular nitrogen, is dependent on them. It has been established that against the background of non-fallow loosening of the finch, more nitrogen accumulates in plants during the earing phase. Varietal differences in the studied characteristics are indicated, but they do not exceed the differences caused by the factors of vegetation conditions. By studying the nitrogen content in grain and seeds, we have established a significant dependence of their ratios on weather factors and can serve as an additional feature for the characteristics of the variety. Acknowledgements. The research was carried out in accordance with the research plan for 2021-2030 of the Federal State Budgetary Budgetary Institution “Federal Scientific Center for Biological Systems and Agrotechnologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences” within the framework of the State Assignment on FNWZ-2022-0014.
