Abstract. The purpose to study the effect of different levels of introduction of the OMEK-7M organic trace element complex into the diet of lactating goats on the state of the body's antioxidant defense system. Methods. The research was conducted on the basis of the Individual Entrepreneur Head of a Peasant Farm Aleksashina E. A., Ekaterinovskiy district, Saratov region. Using the method of pairs of analogues, 40 goats of the Zaanen breed of the third lactation were selected. Results. The level of lipid peroxidation was assessed by the content of diene conjugates (DC), malondialdehyde (MDA) in blood serum, as well as by the concentration of tocopherol and the activity of superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase and catalase. The use of an organic trace element complex during the main experimental period (165 days) significantly reduced the level of diene conjugates in the I, II and III experimental groups of female goats compared with the control group by 22.39 %, 26.73 % and 2.43 % respectively; malondialdehyde by 26.32 %, 51.72 % and 10.46 % respectively. In parallel, there was an increase in the activity of the antioxidant body defense system of dairy goats in the I, II and III experimental groups, as the concentration of alpha-tocopherol in the blood serum in all groups of experimental goats increased by 21.24 %, 12.78 % and 4.69 % relative to the control group goats. The activity of the superoxide dimutase enzyme in the blood of lactating goats increased in experimental groups I, II and III by 3.16 %, 6.12 % and 1.85 % respectively compared with the control. The activity of the enzyme glutathione peroxidase increased in all experimental groups by 18.31 %, 23.07 % and 6.49 % respectively compared with the control group. In goats, the highest catalase activity was observed in the blood serum of the experimental groups. This superiority over the control group was 27.30 %, 32.25 % and 7.29 % respectively.
