Abstract. The improvement of technologies in agriculture, in particular in the production of technical (seed, nonnarcotic) cannabis, is becoming a particularly important factor for improving efficiency in the context of increased competition and deepening the division of labor in the agro-industrial complex as a whole. In this regard, the application of innovative agricultural technologies and the use of advanced technology for their implementation play a key role in increasing the efficiency and sustainability of the development of domestic hemp farming. The purpose of this study is to analyze innovative technology and evaluate the economic efficiency of using a combing harvester for harvesting industrial hemp with a combing of stems at the root. Methods. The research was conducted for 3 years (from 2022 to 2024) on the basis of the Federal Research Center for Bast Fiber Crops. In the course of the research, crop harvesting technologies were studied in a number of leading hemp-growing regions of Russia (Kursk, Ivanovo, Penza regions, the Udmurt Republic and other subjects), and crop harvesting technologies used in foreign countries were analyzed. The research work was carried out on the basis of SWOT analysis methods, methods of comparative, functional and cost analysis, computational and analytical and expert assessment methods were used. The object of the research is an innovative method of harvesting industrial hemp with a combing of stems on the root using a combing harvester. Results. The article substantiates the economic feasibility of the technology of harvesting technical hemp with a combing of stems on the root, evaluates the prospects for the development of the industry from the use of a combing harvester, and calculates economic efficiency indicators. Scientific novelty. For the first time, economic justification of an innovative method of harvesting technical cannabis with a combing of stems on the root using a combing harvester for harvesting. The technical and economic characteristics of using a combing harvester for harvesting industrial hemp have been identified, which indicate the effectiveness of its use as part of an agricultural unit, in particular, due to increased productivity, which leads to a decrease in the need for combines based on a conditional harvesting area of 1000 hectares, and a faster payback.
