Abstract. The article is devoted to the study of the current state of digital transformation processes in the agroindustrial complex (AIC) of Russia. Agriculture is a specific branch of the Russian economy, which is currently in particular need of innovative transformations and digitalization. Many economic ties, varying in level of complexity and degree of intensity, unite numerous agricultural producers into a single industry system. However, business entities, as a rule, are noticeably dispersed throughout the territory of the Russian Federation, which makes it difficult to develop unified, equally effective management solutions for all farmers. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the prospects for the development of regional digital technologies on the example of one of the subjects of the Northwestern Federal District of the Russian Federation – the Novgorod region. Research methods: scientific and theoretical generalization of existing approaches and methods for evaluating key parameters of digitalization processes in the agro-industrial sector. Statistical data for Russia and the Novgorod Region for the period 2016–2023, as well as planned and reporting indicators of the regional Digital Agriculture project, serve as an information source for the study. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the formation of an original approach to the development of methods for the comprehensive analysis of digital transformations in the AIC, which allows to identify possible directions for increasing the efficiency of agricultural industries in a new digital formation. Research results: based on the analysis of statistical information, the need for digital transformation of the AIC of Russia is substantiated, the specifics of the Russian agricultural sector that constrains the processes of digitalization are revealed, and the prospects for the development of regional digital technologies are determined. The results of the study can be useful for the formation of regional agricultural development strategies and decision-making on improving the digital potential of the AIC in the regions of Russia.
