Abstract. Relevance. In the context of the transition of Russian pig breeding to an intensive development model based on in-depth selection, the importance of a comprehensive phenotypic assessment of breeding animals is increasing. One of the key areas for improving efficiency is studying the influence of the genetic potential of sires on the metabolic status and, consequently, the productive qualities of their offspring. The purpose of the study was to establish biochemical blood parameters – key biochemical markers characterizing the main links of metabolism in the first generation (F1) crossbred offspring obtained from boars of the first paternal breed of different production status. Methods. Breeding boars in the study population were divided into three groups of production status (leading – B, intermediate – P, commercial – T) using the proprietary computer program “Production Status Verifier”. Blood samples were collected from the F1 offspring obtained from boars of different groups. The enzyme activities of LDH, ALT, and AST, as well as total protein and urea concentrations, were determined using standardized biochemical methods. Statistical data processing was performed with an assessment of the significance of differences. Results. Statistically significant differences in the metabolic profile of the offspring were identified, depending on the status of the fathers. A significant influence of the production status of the breeding boars on the biochemical parameters of their F1 crossbred offspring was established. The paternal genotype exerts diametrically opposed effects on protein and nitrogen metabolism (protein, urea) depending on the sex of the offspring. Intersexual differences in the proportion of influence are most pronounced for total protein. Scientific novelty. The study reveals, for the first time, sex-dependent differences in the influence of the production status of first-paternal-breed boars (Landrace) on the metabolic profile of F1 crossbred offspring: LDH and AST are most variable in daughters, while urea and ALT are most variable in sons; the share of paternal genotype influence on urea reaches 17.09 % in male offspring, which has not been previously reported for the Landrace × Yorkshire combination.
