Abstract. Currently, a fruit complex has been formed and is functioning in Kabardino-Balkaria, which is recognized as Russia's leading producer of apples. However, the question arises: to what extent does the existing subsectoral economic entity correspond to the classical scientific understanding of a complex? Additionally, it is necessary to identify its composition and the specific local, sub-sectoral, corporate, or national economic objectives it addresses. These and related issues, due to their limited coverage in the domestic literature and their relevance, serve as the subject of this research. The purpose is to identify the organizational, technological, and institutional features of the formation and functioning of the fruit complex in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. The study uses a combination of descriptive (monographic, comparison, analogy, and interpretation) and logical methods. Scientific novelty. The definition of the economic complex as a self-reproducing system, with a variety of diverse connections between its various elements, serving a common goal. Results: 1) it is proved that the existing fruit sector of agriculture in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic functions as a full-fledged economic complex, 2) the existence of the fruit complex is associated with the emergence of a common reproductive circuit that unites the reproductive circuits of its local structures, 3) the main features of the fruit complex in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic are identified, schematized, and described.
