Abstract. The purpose study of the helminth fauna of the gastrointestinal tract and identification of common helminthiasis for sheep and cattle in the Trans-Baikal Territory. Research methods: The methods of helminthoscopy, helmintholarvoscopy, methods of complete and partial helminthological dissection of the digestive organs (PGV, NGV). Scientific novelty. Our research has established for the first time helminthiasis of the gastrointestinal tract of animals caused by 10 types of pathogens that are common to small and large cattle. The species composition of helminths in the digestive tract of sheep and cattle, their distribution, and the identification of common pathogens of helminthiasis found in Zabaykalsky Krai were studied. Results. Twenty-six species of parasites have been identified in the gastrointestinal tract of sheep raised in the Zabaykalsky Krai, including one trematode, three cestodes, and 22 nematodes. Our research revealed a widespread distribution of nematodes from the suborder strongylata (extensiveness of invasion (EI) 87.6 %) and Moniesia sPp. (EI 5.9 %), which are present in all areas of the region. It should be noted that trematodes (paramphistoma) are found only in three districts of the region, located in the southwest, where cattle are primarily raised and sheep farming is underdeveloped. Our studies have established that cattle helminthiases in the region have a similarly widespread prevalence: bunostomosis with an EI of 48.6 %, cooperiosis with an EI of 20.5 %, fascioliasis with an EI of 11.0 %, monieziasis with an EI of 12.1 %, ostertagiosis with an EI of 11.7 %, paramphistomiasis with an EI of 7.0 %, nematodirosis with an EI of 6.1 %, chabertiosis with an EI of 5.3 % and, less common, esophagostomiasis. The species composition of parasites of the gastrointestinal tract of cattle is represented by 13 species of nematodes, three species of trematodes, and one species of cestodes.
