Abstract. The domestic reindeer is found circumpolarly in Northern Europe, Asia and North America. In the latter, it was not until the end of the XIX century. Wild reindeer is found in Asia and North America. In breeding work, it sometimes becomes necessary to use the male of wild reindeer to improve existing breeds of domestic deer. The device for catching domesticated and wild reindeer can be used for controlled pairing of individual queens with wild choruses for scientific purposes. Device for catching reindeer comprises a pole fence of closed oval shape. The height of the fence is from 2.0 to 2.2 m. The fence has three or more traps and the output gates. The traps are placed evenly around the perimeter of the fence with the maximum use of the landscape features. Each trap has an open passage to the animal with the possibility of direct visibility of bait. The trap consists of the wedgeshaped and parallel parts. The wedge-shaped part is a continuation of the fence and faces with the wide open base the external environment, and with the narrowed vertex part it is connected to the parallel part. The parallel part is a continuation of the wedge-shaped part of the trap and has a length of 2 m. The parallel sides of the trap are spaced by the distance of 0.7 m. The middle poles of the parallel part have elastically deflectable tags. Effect: increase in efficiency of catching domestic and wild reindeer. On application No. 2014141108/13 of October 13, 2014 «Device for catching reindeer», patent of the Russian Federation No. 2569633 has been received.
