Abstract. The aim of the study is to investigate the processes of agricultural land conservation from the perspective of their impact on the resilience (vitality) of rural areas. Methods. The papers devoted to the issues of rational land use in the aspects of spatial development, sustainability of rural areas and efficient agricultural management have been reviewed and interpreted. Using the example of the entities of the Ural macroregion, the dynamics of agricultural land turnover has been analyzed and the factors influencing its resilience of rural areas have been identified. Scientific novelty lies in the substantiation of the conclusion that the efficiency of agricultural land turnover is favorably influenced by the quality of land relations regulation, which is higher in industrialized entities due to their receptivity to technological innovations in land use, as well as the presence of a set of industry productivity factors as a catalyst for economic growth and synergy of regional social reproduction processes. Results. Organizational and economic proposals have been formulated for the conservation of agricultural land and ensuring the resilience of rural areas, improving the mechanism for regulating the agricultural land market and implementing institutional control over their turnover. The practical significance of the recommendations lies in their potential relevance in state regulation of agricultural land turnover, ensuring the viability of rural areas, and improving the living conditions of the agricultural population in Russian regions.
