Abstract. Sudangrass is a valuable annual forage crop capable of producing green mass for forage production in arid conditions. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of microfertilizer application options in sudangrass crops with different seeding rates to produce high-quality, cost-effective seeds. Methods. The study was conducted in the chestnut soil zone of the Kamyshin district of the Volgograd region. Three variants of sudangrass cultivation for seed purposes were studied in plots with seeding rates of 12 kg/ha and 20 kg/ha. Four varieties of sudangrass were sown in plots with different seeding rates and foliar treatments to increase the yield and seed quality: 1 – without foliar treatment; 2 – “Biostim Start” in the sprouting phase 1 l/ha + “Gumat kaliya Sufler” 0.3 l/ha; 3 – “Biostim Start” in the sprouting phase 1 l/ha + “Biostim Universal” in the panicle emergence phase 2 l/ha + “Gumat kaliya Sufler” 0.3 l/ha. Scientific novelty. For the first time, a study was conducted to determine the optimal, cost-effective options for applying microfertilizers to sudangrass crops in plots with different seeding rates and varieties. Results. It was determined that the optimal seeding rate for obtaining high-quality sudangrass seeds is 12 kg/ha. The most effective option in the experiment was option 3, which involved using “Biostim Start” in the sprouting phase 1 l/ha + “Gumat kaliya Sufler” 0.3 l/ha; 3 –Biostim Start in the sprouting phase 1 l/ha + Biostim Universal in the panicle emergence phase 2 l/ha + “Gumat kaliya Sufler” 0.3 l/ha. during the panicle formation phase. This combination yielded sudangrass seeds with an economic efficiency of 229.2 %. The highest-yielding and most profitable variety in the crops was Polina, with yields of 1.91 t/ha and 229.2 %, respectively.
