Abstract. This article examines changes in the volume and structure of agricultural production in the Russian Federation based on statistical data characterizing various categories of farms. The purpose is identify patterns of changes in the volume and structure of agricultural production in the Russian Federation for the period 2015–2024, and to analyze the contribution of various categories of farms to the total output of the agricultural sector, taking into account modern trends in technological renewal. Methods: statistical analysis of actual prices, index indicators of output in comparable prices, as well as the structure of production by type of activity (crop growing and livestock farming). Additionally, a comparative approach is used to assess the evolution of the share of agricultural organizations, households, and peasant (farm) households. The scientific novelty lies in a comprehensive consideration of structural shifts in agro-industrial production caused not only by technological renewal and strengthening of integration processes, but also by changes in state support. For the first time, a generalized approach to assessing the total output of the industry has been proposed, allowing for identifying regional characteristics and determining areas for improving industry policy. The results of the study demonstrate the increasing role of agricultural organizations, accompanied by a gradual reduction in the share of households and the professionalization of farms. It has been established that, although crop production retains its leading positions in terms of growth rates, livestock farming is acquiring an increasingly significant place in the production structure due to its investment attractiveness and the use of modern technologies. An analysis of production indices in comparable prices indicates positive dynamics, but the pace of development remains uneven across regions and categories of farms. Based on the identified trends, recommendations have been proposed for improving state agricultural policy, including stimulating technological modernization, developing cooperative forms of management, and strengthening financial support measures for industry participants.
