Features of varietal agricultural technology for spring wheat using the new Lenta 45 variety as an example

Abstract. A variety is the biological foundation of a crop. Varietal-specific agricultural technology is a set of developed plant cultivation techniques that ensure the realization of the genetic potential of a particular variety under specific soil and climatic conditions. Zonal cultivation technologies must be sufficiently flexible. The purpose: to develop individual elements of varietal agricultural technology for a new highly productive variety of spring soft wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) Lenta 45. Field experiments were conducted in the Kurgan region of the Russian Federation, southern forest-steppe (55°15′09″ N, 65°07′48″ E) in 2018–2024. Scientific novelty lies in determining the response of a new promising spring wheat variety to sowing time, plant protection products, and retardants in the Trans-Urals region using modern cultivation technology. Methods used are generally accepted in the Russian Federation. Results. The Lenta 45 spring wheat variety produces high, high-quality grain yields. It is highly responsive to plant protection products; during foliar disease outbreaks, the yield with integrated protection was 55 %. The advantage of mid-early varieties (which includes the new Lenta 45 variety) is their suitability for sowing both early and late. The use of retardants based on chlormequat chloride (“Reggi”), mepiquat chloride with calcium prohexadione (“Messidor”), and trinexapac-ethyl (“Moddus”) allowed shortening the straw by 9,9–11,6 cm, preventing this negative effect. The increase in crop productivity due to the use of growth regulators was 0,31–0,44 t/ha, or 9–11 % of the control.
